First of all, I am not saying anything new here by declaring that the OG scales are the best aftermarket scales you can buy for your knife. But what some may not know is that their installation services and customer service are just off the charts. I've never seen another company stand behind and support their own products like the goat does. Thanks as always to the OG crew for another amazing build!
My Cold Steel Engage had been transformed! These scales are sublime. Edges are smooth as silk and build quality is like a tank. The attention to detail is unmatched. In addition, the blade skates effortlessly across the upgraded bearings. It has the smoothest action of any knife I've ever held. I'm already planning my next purchase.
Swapped my Microtech MSI scales with the aluminum stocky gunstock from the original polymer ones. The original goat scales added a feel of quality to this knife. The polymers were sturdy but did give a little with some grip pressure. OG's scales arrived beautifully crafted and the fit and finish was impeccable. Highly recommend this company, communication is top notch! Can't wait to get my Demko upgraded with OG! Thank you to OG!
While the MSI was a good overall EDC knife, the addition of the gunstock scales absolutely changed this knife to be a GREAT overall EDC knife. The scales are built with complete precision and excellent attention to detail. All without a single flaw. The swap out took maybe five minutes and the knife was just elevated in my round of EDC knives. Wow… it’s a Serious Upgrade!
The scales I received worked perfectly. I had no issues whatsoever. The scales completely changed the knife (for the better). If you take apart the MSI, note they use flats (or d shaped pins/washers). So you rotate them slightly instead of getting violent to remove them. Forcing them off will scrape up your main pivot pin, which you don’t want.
OG comes through again . Super nice 👍. No issues . Putting it to together I could tell the tolerances were damn good . This was an easy assembly . Don’t forget to keep track of those Teflon washers . I started with the clip side, clip with shim , backspacer next , pins , lockbar , give it a push and put the blade in , add the show side scale and enjoy . I hope they do a 4max next ✌️😳
I went with Splatter Goat - Make Me The Magician!.. and chose Crushed Orchid for the base layer and Periwinkle for the top coat because I wanted a blurple effect. I went with the Drift scales and was concerned it would look too busy with the colors, but it was perfect. I went single color Periwinkle for the backspacer and it makes for a nice accent. Threw on a blurple fade ano clip from Lynch NW and purple ano ti thumbstuds from Flytanium... and this is now one dressed out Deka! Looks great and went from feeling cheap to world-class all the way. This is my 4th set of OG scales, and the first set of custom Ceramic coated scales. They are the perfect upgrade to my RSK, and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again!
I was reluctant to purchase because I have purchased other scales from other companies in the past and had fitment issues, blade play or centering issues. But these scales installed super easy and the blade of perfectly centered with no blade play. Super smooth opening and closing due to the bearing upgrade. I think these scales are definitely worth the money, it gives the knife a really premium look and feel.
The OG scales really make the Hogue Deka. The feel in the hand is just right. The precision milling on the scales provides great grip. The color is uniform and perfectly matches the color on the website. I would highly recommend the OG scales and it will buy another set for my next Hogue.
Finished my awesome build of houge deka everything fit perfect. Glad I went with the xl fits my big mit much better. I was a little nervous bc I choose a custom splatter pattern (Sedona and matte black), but couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Worth every penny, and look forward to my next build.
Another home run from OG. These are amazing. They turn a $150 knife into $500 plus quality territory. Install was easy and tolerances are probably the best I've ever seen in aftermarket scales. I say the same for fit and finish. Thanks OG!
