Description

Custom-designed aluminum scales that are lightweight yet durable for your Demko AD20, AD20i, and AD20S.  These use the stock liners making it an easy swap to OG status!

This option is featured in our Stoned finish, which gives a unique tumbled look that keeps some of that natural aluminum shine without being "shiny."  For a softer aluminum look and feel, make sure to check out our In the Buff finish as this is a blasted finish with hand-buffed edges for that perfect combo of satin and shine!

ALUMINUM FINISHES

STONED VS IN THE BUFF

The debate roars on...to buff or not to buff is the question!

Our two raw aluminum finishes available...

  • STONED (SHINY) - This is an UNFINISHED finish...this is a raw, shiny aluminum look straight from our tumblers! You may see slight tool marks and other slight imperfections with this finish, but will be less prone to scratching and tarnishing.
  • IN THE BUFF (MATTE) - This is a blasted finish, so the overall look and feel will be a smoother, matte finish. We gently hand-buff the surface to bring back just a hint of shine to those edges, which pictures really just do justice!

Expanded, and now slightly thicker?

With the OG scales for the AD20.5 you know if you're getting "stocky" or "phat"....phat scales are slightly thicker and will cover up the top three handle pins, stocky scales will show all six pins & screws. But with the OG scales for the AD20/20S it's not entirely clear for some reason. Most seem to be thick enough to cover the top three pins, but some are not and show all the body holes, and I have received both types. My most recent order of AD20 scales was for "expanded" texture in aluminum. If you look at the listing photo for this texture you will see all six holes showing, so that is what I expected. But when my set arrived I was happy to discover that the top three pin holes were hidden, which would be my preference every time. I think the expanded texture looks particularly good on these larger handles, but less so on smaller knives like the Hogue Deka where I think the smaller scallops of the OG1 fit better. But you really can't go wrong with any option, it's a 5-star product every time.

OG Demko aluminum

Very well made, I’ll be able to give a more in depth review when my AD20 gets back from the mothership
