Perfectly machined. Beautiful. Fit better than a glove. I wish the blue ano was a bit darker but this is a nitpick.
This has been the worst experience since I started modifying knives. I ordered these scales in December(it's currently July). I reached out a few times to see when I might be seeing these. I was told in early May that it would be a few weeks. I was concerned about timing as I knew I had a trip to Paris planned and would have no one here for about 2 weeks in July. I emIled OG and they said they would be sent before that. This is after several deadlines came and went. To be fair they were hit by tornadoes and my heart goes out to them. Needless to say I was more than frustrated when a couple days into my trip to Paris I got an email confirming my scales had been shipped. I got home and they were not on my door step. At this point I'm chocking it up to a loss. Most people got them and loved them. I wish I had been one of those people. I figure the universe doesn't want me to have them and I have already poured more time and money into these than I care to admit. I will not be contacting them for any refund because I am sure at some point they got delivered. I just wish it had happened within the first 6 months after I ordered them instead of the 7th month. I will not likely try their products again, though the other items I have of theirs are remarkable.
Spoke with customer in the middle/end of May, and we were informed that they were leaving for Paris 'in the next couple of weeks' and asked if their scales would by ready before they leave. We provided them a with an update and offered to hold their order until they returned, if the scales were completed sooner than currently estimated which was not until mid-June. This offer was refused stating that they had people that would take care of those special GOATs, if they happened to ship while they were away!
Last week of June, customer reaches back out for update (as this first batch of titanium options did take much longer than we anticipated due to a unknown version of this knife being found immediately after 1st aluminum batch was shipped...and extended waittimes were noted on product at time of purchase), and we provided final update... scales are out of production and in our coating department to be finished with their custom coating request (that takes 1-3 weeks per our website), no mention of trip during this exchange! Scales are shipped within final timeframe provided, and delivered.
We are continuing to work this customer to try to get their scales replaced for them and compensated for the inconvenience!
While the MSI was a good overall EDC knife, the addition of the gunstock scales absolutely changed this knife to be a GREAT overall EDC knife. The scales are built with complete precision and excellent attention to detail. All without a single flaw. The swap out took maybe five minutes and the knife was just elevated in my round of EDC knives. Wow… it’s a Serious Upgrade!
