Description

***This model will fit the newer, smaller 1/4" sized RAM-LOK

This texture is a mild texture that will be a great alternative to a "smooth" texture so that you can be a smooth OG operator!

These MM1 textured aluminum scales are designed exclusively for the Microtech Standard Issue Gen2/v2 (MSI) to feature that knife's best assets!!

This option is going to be most like stock and comes standard in Right-Handed Carry, with jimping that follows the backspacer, and WITHOUT a lanyard hole.

But of course, we allow you to stray far from standard so you can add additional finger-jimping to the finger profile, change that pocket clip location, and make it more like stock by adding a lanyard hole if you prefer that style of carry!

**The photo shown is standard configuration - right-handed, w/o finger jimping, with no lanyard hole and is shown in our In the Buff finish, stoned photos coming soon, but look below for an idea of that finish

Pros and cons

  • Lightweight Option
  • Extremely Durable
  • OG Style at a Budget Price
  • Hard to Decide Which OG to Get
  • You May Feel the Need to Buy a New Knife
  • May Become Addictive

ALUMINUM FINISHES

STONED VS IN THE BUFF

The debate roars on...to buff or not to buff is the question!

Our two raw aluminum finishes available...

  • STONED (SHINY) - This is an UNFINISHED finish...this is a raw, shiny aluminum look straight from our tumblers! You may see slight tool marks and other slight imperfections with this finish, but will be less prone to scratching and tarnishing.
  • IN THE BUFF (MATTE) - This is a blasted finish, so the overall look and feel will be a smoother, matte finish. We gently hand-buff the surface to bring back just a hint of shine to those edges, which pictures really just do justice!

Additional "Belly" Finger Jimping

Add some additional grip, and make that OG a little more like stock with this jimping addition that adds those notches back in on the "belly" of the profile for those who prefer that additional grip at their fingers.

MT MSI Scales

Fit was perfect and the tungsten color is really great next to the MSI finish. Grab a set and get them on your knife you wont regret it. To boot mine came earlier then expected.

Microtech MSI Scales

I have to say this is the second time I've ordered from Original Goat. I have to say that the product you make and the customer service you provide is excellent. The fit and finish you are able to accomplish is perfect. I would definitely recommend to any one who would want to get new scales to use Original Goat.

Armor Black Aluminum Gunstock

The Microtech MSI quickly became my favorite go-to work knife over the last year. I opted for polymer scales to save some cash in anticipation of aftermarket scales coming to the market. I waited...heard rumors...waited some more and then Original Goat made the announcement! I immediately purchased an aluminum set in Armor Black Cerakote in the Gunstock configuration. My order was placed when the shop was in the process of being moved so it took quite awhile for their arrival. Also, I opted for the lanyard hole delete and custom jimping so I created the delay with my choices. Which is the first part of the review...not only can you choose from a variety of configuration patterns with OG, but you can get very specific with the scales themselves. I find that to be a step above most other scale manufacturers as usually the pattern is your only choice option. The quality is the next part of the review which is absolutely fantastic. Most of the knives I own are titanium or aftermarket titanium scales, but the quality and weight on these aluminum ones are incredible. The workmanship is amazing and this is how the MSI was meant to be carried. The spacing around the thumbhole is laser accurate and the way they feel in the hand is perfect. It goes without saying that all of the issues with the polymer scales are completely eradicated. My 195 MSI with the OG scales feels like a 500 knife. Yes, they are that good.
