Got the new Hogue Deka and felt the stock handle was a quarter inch too short. Tip of the blade would occasionally nick my palm when I’d shut it one handed. Stock handles are also unbelievably slick. These scales help on both fronts. These xl scales add about a quarter inch on the back end keeping your palm safely away from the blade. The pattern also helps with grip. Getting the blade centered was the only hard part about the installation. I’m still a hair towards the clip side, but it’s acceptable for me since the Deka is my daily carry.
I got the expanded in the buff. Love the finish and grip is great. Fit was perfect, just swapping the scales made the action of the knife even better. Added just enough rigidity and weight to make the Deka feel great.
What can I say this is my second set of scales from OG and I love them. The scales that came on the knife were trash as everyone knows. The OG scales make this knife so much better! I love this knife now.
